Unexpected challenges you can face in your healing journey, as someone with a sensitive nervous system...

🔸The frustration of not knowing your own limits and boundaries.

You overdo healing work without noticing it.
You want to heal so badly that you often “exaggerate”. Using many interventions at the same time, or “quick healing” promising methods. Often ending up confused, struggling to discern what interventions work for you and where to go next.

🔸There is a constant search for holistic practitioners who know how to work with your sensitive system. You long for one who knows how to titrate at the best rate for your sensitive nervous system.

🔸 You sometimes struggle with a sense of isolation, as most people around you don’t understand what it’s like to be hypersensitive to external stimuli, such as smells, foods, sound, big crowds etc….

🔸Intrinsic memories is a real thing.

The physiological responses such as elevated heart rate and high level of stress happening out of the blue, in seemly normal daily life, can leave you and those around you puzzled. One of the reasons this happen is because environmental cues can trigger implicit memories (unconscious memories). Another reason it’s because your system is overwhelmed, so small inputs can feel huge.

Some or all of the above items can often be the consequence of unresolved developmental trauma.

As someone who also has a sensitive system do you have anything to add?
