Frequently Asked Questions

  • Discharging incomplete fight/flight/freeze/shutdown responses from the nervous system is a process that can't be forced or rushed. The whole process also involves:

    • Somatic psychoeducation.

    • Experiential exploration of your physiology, learning to recognise, somatically, your own stress responses.

    • Building up resilience in your nervous system, to enable you to face life’s challenges in a constructive way.

    • Teaching your body to feel safe again and be ok with positive experiences.

    • SSP, if desired.

    • TEB, if needed.

    • Work around attachment issues (relational issues), if needed/wanted.

    • Parts work/identity integration, if wanted/needed.

In this work we are reshaping the nervous system and because we are undoing long term unhelpful patterns, releasing false identity and building new neural pathways; weekly sessions is the best option.

If you can’t commit to weekly sessions, because of time restraints or financial reasons, it’s ok. My online booking system is flexible, allowing you to have control over your schedule. You can book and organise your own sessions.

  • It depends what you see as results and what type of results you are looking for.

Some people see immediate results, such as relaxation and calmness in the first session and report a deeper awareness of themselves after one or two sessions. Others have reported chronic symptoms subsiding after a couple of sessions.

But in general, as we go deeper there is more to uncover for most people. It’s dependent on each individual’s nervous system, personality and trauma biography. This is not surface level work. It is a whole different way of working, different from mindset and cognitive approaches. It works on the level of your physiology.

  • For Somatic Experiencing (SE) sessions a minimum of three days between sessions.
This rule does not apply when mixing 1:1 SE sessions with chronic stress group, somatic group, TEB and/or Deep Dive sessions. These can be booked closer together, no problems.

  • Yes, you can. In many cases it’s even advisable, but I’m also aware that many people are not in the position to have 2 sessions per week.

I do see some clients twice every week. If you are keen to have more than one session a week, please let me know and I will tailor your sessions to meet your unique needs.

  • No. You can also choose to book and pay for as many sessions as you like in advance. Many clients do this in order to secure the slots best suited for their weekly schedule. To use this option you need to select the slots you want on each week, then proceed to the checkout page.

  • You can reschedule sessions at the bottom of your confirmation email (the email you receive as soon as you book your session/s).

If you have an user account, in the website, you can also login to your unique account to monitor and reschedule your sessions.

    Please note:

1:1 work: The rescheduling option is only available up to 24 hours prior to your appointment. After the 24 hours period it’s not possible to reschedule nor cancel sessions. There are no refunds when the 24 hours notice period is missed.

DT & Chronic stress healing group: It is possible to reschedule up to 1 hour prior to the session.

Somatic group: It is possible to reschedule up to 1 hour prior to the session.

For 1:1 sessions there is no refund for cancellations done out of the 24 hours window.

All somatic groups and DT & Chronic stress healing group purchases are final. There is no option of refunds for these groups.

Detailed information for 1:1 and group sessions can be found in the terms and conditions. Please take time to read terms and conditions before booking your 1:1 and/or group sessions.

  • I suggest keeping a journal where you can write your questions and insights. Then bringing this journal to your next session.

If you would like to receive hands-on support and guidance between sessions my mentorship might be a good option for you.

You can learn more about my 1:1 private mentorship here.

  • This work is not therapy, nor a substitute for therapy. Some clients choose to see a psychotherapist or psychologist alongside this work. For complex needs, it is advisable to work with more than one type of professional, in some cases a multidisciplinary team, for best results.
